The City of Thunder Bay owns and operates three courses comprising forty-five holes for golfing enthusiast to enjoy. Chapples, Strathcona and Municipal are structured to offer enjoyment for all levels of golfer.

Dragon Hills is now a very challenging, nine-hole 3,300 yard golf course with rolling hills, 10 ponds, 2 lakes. When standing atop the highest elevation (the forth T box), you are greeted with the most magnificent view of the Sleeping Giant, Mount McKay and Lake Superior.

The fairways at North Shore are all natural grasses, known to be some of the finest bent grass greens on the North Shore.  While the fairways are generous, most of the greens are small, elevated and some are severely contoured.

Golf started at the Thunder Bay Country Club Ltd in 1910 on a course designed by Lord Stanley Thompson. The club house was built near the back of today's number 7 green in 1913.
